About The Author
Pete DuBarry.........
The author of this book was raised in a Roman
Catholic family and was the youngest of six children. He spent
over fourteen years of his life under the influence of Benedictine
nuns, Christian Brothers, and Benedictine monks.
After two years of university study, and with
the encouragement of his parish priest, he entered a Benedictine
monastery with the intention of becoming a Catholic priest.
Duing his stay at the monastery, the author
developed a deep appreciation of the incredible work accomplished
by these monks who were totally dedicated to the work of God.
Because the author entered the monastery at
age 22, he was considered a "belated vocation" and
had to complete six years of regular training in only a 2-year
period.
Following a realization that the life-style
of the monks was not the best way for him to serve God, the
author left the monastery and volunteered for the military.
Upon completion of a 2-year tour in the army, he returned
to his university studies.
